More than Gold Glitters: Sabina Kasper

Swedish designer Sabina Kasper has solidly established her own unique aesthetic that transcends the visual and embraces sustainable and humanistic principles.

Having originally studied business and law, Sabina switched over to Silversmithing; infusing her business savvy, and personal and social ethics into her practice, design and philosophy.

In addition to being visually engaging, Sabina’s work pushes the boundaries and hierarchies in fine jewelry. Sabina actually paints industrial neon paint onto genuine tourmalines, diamonds and 18kt gold! In an industry where high carat gold and diamonds reign supreme as the pinnacle of value for precious gems and fine metals – Sabina dares to apply industrial beautiful, vibrant and life-giving hues to enhance their beauty and symbolism – over the actual metals and gems! Bold and fantastic – ahead of the game.

Her inspiration comes from a myriad of places: her education in Japan and Brasil – subcultures and daydreams. She finds inspiration from the issues affecting the world around her, namely use of resources.

In using sustainable materials, Sabina notes what we here at AurumEve believe as true: knowing that sustainable and natural products are used in your piece, the wearer does feel positive about what they are wearing, and in turn themselves. In that same vein, but in the visual spectrum, Sabina follows this continuum through her choice and use of colour, using only colours that will have a bright, positive effect on those who will wear her jewelry. The result is clear: both a visually and personal beauty is created – respecting natural resources but always having the simple joys of life and true value and aesthetic – prevail.
