Indego Africa is an award-winning, innovative 501(c)(3) non-profit / social enterprise based in NYC and Kigali, Rwanda. Indego Africa partners with eleven artisan cooperatives comprised of over 435 Rwandan women, many of whom survived the 1994 Genocide; have little formal education; and are the sole provider in their household. Indego Africa works with these cooperatives to export, market, and sells their products (a) on its online store, (b) to more than 80 retail stores across the U.S. and Europe, and (c) at major brands like J.Crew and Nicole Miller. Indego Africa then directs 100% percent of profits (including donations and grants) to training programs for the women in management and entrepreneurship, literacy, technology, and health. Indego Africa hires top Rwandan university students from socially-vulnerable backgrounds to administer its training programs.
